lemon drop cookies

 Tarelli (Lemon Drop Cookies)

These cookies belong to Grandma Rose. Not my grandma, but that of my dear friend Tara Cannistraci. She is a hilarious comedian and can be found @tarajokes. If you want a laugh, follow her. If you want a delicious cookie, make these!

Cookies:

¾ cup sugar

2 teaspoon vanilla

1 teaspoon lemon extract

5 eggs

1 stick salted butter (melted)

4 cups flour

6 teaspoons baking powder

(makes ~100 cookies)

For half recipe, use

2 ¼ cup flour

7 tbsp. sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla

½ teaspoon lemon extract

3 eggs

4 tbsp butter

3 tsp baking powder

Icing:

5 tbsp lemon juice

4 cups Confectioner’s sugar

Set oven to 350 degrees F

Mix flour and baking powder together. Add melted butter into flour mix

Beat eggs well. Add sugar, vanilla, lemon to beated eggs and mix well.

Add eggs/sugar/vanilla mix over flour.

Roll cookies in palm and place on baking sheet (coated in parchment paper)

Bake for 10 minutes

After baking, allow cookies to cool. Dip top of cookie in icing and then coat cookies with sprinkles (about 6-10 cookies worth to allow sprinkles to stick). Place cookie in tray to dry.
